It started out like any other rock concert in the Romanian capital on Friday night. These photos capture the moments before the tragedy. Panic took hold when a fire broke out – indoor pyrotechnics apparently were to blame. Hundreds rushed for the exit. Outside –these were the scenes as rescue crews rushed to help – a ‘code red’ emergency procedure was declared. Bucharest city , Romania's capital at night timelapse/hyperlapse You can support this project by donating on my patreon page: https://www.patreon.com/andreisolomon Thank you! https://www.facebook.com/solomonandrei/videos/10211625877941609/ https://www.instagram.com/solomon_media/ The production of this video began on September 19, 2014 and the last scene was shot on August 30, 2017. I wanted to capture the shades of dark, especially between autumn and winter, when days are shorter, giving enough time to create the hyperlapses. About 12,000 photos and 2 videos were used. As the city constantly changes, I plan on updating it every 4-5 years. Productia acestui video a inceput pe 19 septembrie 2014 si ultima scena a fost trasa pe 30 august 2017. S-a lucrat in perioada toamna-iarna ca sa p...

Bucharest is the capital city, industrial and financial centre of Romania. It is the largest city in Romania, located in the southeast of the country, and lies on the banks of the Dâmboviţa River. Bucharest was first mentioned in documents as early as 1459. Since then it has gone through a variety of changes, becoming the state capital of Romania in 1862 and steadily consolidating its position as the centre of the Romanian mass media, culture and arts. Its eclectic architecture is a mix of historical (neo-classical), interbellum (Bauhaus and Art Deco), Communist-era and modern. (music Deadmau5 - Faxing Berlin & Electronic Arts - Calista)

I went to Bucharest for 3 ays for a business trip and tried to see as much as possible while I was there. Firstly, we walked around Old Town, which is very small compared to Old Towns in Prague, Warsaw, etc. Old Town is pretty quiet during the day, mostly restaurants and cafes but at night time becomes quite lively. On one particular street, the music is bumping. As for traditional food, make sure to eat the cabbage leaves stuffed with pork. It's delicious. I think that is the most traditional food that people recommended to me. We stayed at the Intercontinental Hotel and its proximity to Old Town was a key factor for choosing it. All in, 3 full days seemed perfect to explore this city. On my last day before flying home, we took a 3 hour journey though the mountains to visit Bran C...

Pictures and music by Federico Borluzzi © This is a slideshow showing some pictures that I shot in a trip to Romania in 2006. I visited some places in the region of Transylvania, except for a couple of days spent in the capital, Bucharest, at the end of the trip. The towns that I visited are: Brașov, Poiana Brașov, Prejmer, Hărman, Homorod, Rupea, Viscri, Bunești, Sighișoara, Biertan, Valea Viilor, Sibiu, Rășnov, Bran Castle, Sinaia and Peleș castle, Bucharest. I didn’t take many pictures (nowadays I use to take many, many more), because I didn’t have any camera with me and I could only use my mobile phone, which didn’t allow me to take many pictures because of its limited memory (just a 32 MB memory card, which sounds quite ridiculous today, but it was quite normal at that time). Up to 50 thousand people have been made homeless in Romania over the recent years. The government has been handing back properties previously seized under the communist regime. Often it is the minority Roma people who are evicted. Al Jazeera’s Paul Brennan reports from Bucharest. Photos appearing in this video provided by Michele Lancione.
